Good real ale, super fish and chips, really light batter, only tried the small fish as this was plenty, the large fish was like a whale.Friendly and helpful staff

We went here for our wedding anniversary. The pub is set in a beautiful location worthy of the driver alone. Parking can be a challenge but we did have two large cars. And that's our problem. One your inside this gorgeous old pub you can't help but feel relaxed. It has a lovely atmosphere with very friendly staff. Then we come to the food. And I'm pleased to say that it was all very good indeed. I honestly have no complaints whatsoever with this fantastic pub. Very highly recommended

Lovely meal here tonight, very reasonably priced. Happened upon steak night unintentionally. Our dog was welcomed with biscuits and I asked for a bowl of water for her which wasn't a problem. Ordered a sausage for the dog, also not an issue. Despite living locally we have given it a wide berth for years due to disappointing food. So glad the new owner is bringing the standards up to speed. We will definitely visit more regularly now.

Lovely pub and very welcoming staff particularly the young man who greeted us at the door and chatted to us. We really enjoyed it there and food was very good. Afternoon visit.

I’m not just saying this, but quite frankly the best country pub we have EVER been too! Not just country pub, but pub in general!The staff who work here are lovely, made us feel so so so welcomed, they were so polite and talkative so a massive thanks for that.It is a dog friendly pub which is a win win, they gave our little doggo treats too which she was very happy about.I ordered the Carps loaded burger and my partner ordered the chicken fillet burger, we haven’t stopped speaking about it since we had it; it was possibly the BEST burger we have ever tried and the portions are massive for such a great price!!!!Unfortunately we don’t live near by we are just visiting for a week but we will be back for sure.Thank you once again for being so lovely to us and the great food!Also a mini gift shop inside which sells really lovely things and even doggo ice cream HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Absolutely fantastic food and the ploughman's!!!! Wow. Value for money. The owner was a fantastic cook and knew exactly how to cook my steak (blue) staff were excellent. When we are back we will be visiting you again. Thank you

If you are after a pub that does good pub food, not to fussy and a traditional pub feel this is perfectThe chips were the best part of the food
